California Proposition 65

NovaVision

March 31, 2024

Prop 65 requires businesses who sell to California residents and businesses to provide a warning if the product is listed as a known or potential hazardous risk for cancer or reproductive health.

The list contains a wide range of naturally occurring and synthetic chemicals that are known or suspected to cause cancer, birth defects or other forms of reproductive harm. The list includes additives or ingredients in pesticides, common household products, food, drugs, dyes, or solvents. They can also be chemicals used in manufacturing and construction, or byproducts of chemical processes, such as motor vehicle exhaust.

However, if the listed substance is in a low concentration (which does not pose a health risk) in the final product, then no warning is required.

Based on the current listing of over 900 substances and as of this writing, the only affected product sold by NovaVision is:

  • Holographic Embossing Shims, which are constructed of nickel metal.

On a secondary basis, some of the adhesives used in our labels contain these substances, which are on the listing of Proposition 65:

Since our products are not intended for inhalation, ingestion or skin contact (other than brief and temporary contact during affixing), we believe these concentration and exposure levels are minimal and not a health risk.

This listing of affected products sold by our company is updated by March 31 of each calendar year. The following is a link for the full listing of Prop 65 substances and the related health risk.

NovaVision does not intentionally add any of the restricted substances in the fabrication process.
